How did this happen!? It seemed to fly by and now we’re back in school, the calendar is getting busy and we’re back to packing lunches and driving carpools. Next on the list will be Halloween costumes…

I had so many fun sessions over the summer…this was one of the early ones for Father’s Day…just love her beautiful golden curls and her impish smile!

Now that we’re heading into summer, just a friendly reminder -   take LOTS of pictures.   I always tell my clients that waiting for the perfect time will not make the perfect picture. When your kids are all grown up, off in college, getting married, having kids of their own (I know, can’t imagine that one), the pictures you will absolutely love and treasure will be the ones with a favorite toy,  missing front teeth, mismatched clothes, belly laughs, a shy smile,  hugs,  kisses,  teasing  and  rough housing.  These are the moments that truly show who they are as individuals and why you love them so dearly.

Just to prove a point, this is a picture I took with my Iphone of Stina walking down a street in Charlottesville, VA a few months back. There’s something about it that makes me happy and wistful at the same time.  I think it captures  the little girl she was but also the teenager she’s too soon going to become.  I love it…and it was just a split second walking down the street.

Just capture the moment. It all passes too quickly.

My family was off in Copenhagen this week visiting aunts, uncles & cousins,  eating Danish chocolates and meeting the Queen. That left me and our yellow lab, Jake home alone. Desperate times call for desperate measures… so Jake was my model as I checked cameras and lenses for upcoming Father Day shoots.  I have to say, he was rather cute and obliging…I might actually give this as a father’s day gift considering Jake is treated like our second child. How embarrassing is that!? No doubt, it’s the same at your house…
